ACOUSTIC LADYLAND

an acoustic tribute to Jimi Hendrix

Paraphrasing the famous jimi Hendrix double album from 1969, Electric ladyland, Stefano Barbati releases the CD “Acoustic Ladyland – an acoustic tribute to Jimi Hendrix”. We have always heard about jimi as interpreter and brilliant innovator, but very few words were spoken about the beauty of many of his melodies, the originality of his harmonic solutions and his enthralling rhythmic power. Starting from these points, Stefano recorded 9 tracks from jimi’s repertoire modifying registers and sonorities touching different aspects of the acoustic guitar ranging from the typical rock-blues rhythmic strength to more subtle and ethereal sonorities.

“Acoustic Ladyland” has been recorded in the “Barbastudio” (stefano’s private recording studio) and, though the acoustic guitar is the main protagonist, he chose to take advantage of the precious collaboration of Davide Bernaro on percussions, Nicola Di Camillo on acoustic and double bass and Ivan Abbonizio on Electric Bass and vocals
